Country houses in Cyclades

In the dry landscape of the Cyclades, stone and sun compose the material canvas of this new development of hospitality houses. Overlooking the numerous small islets that jut out the blue Aegean, this design draws inspiration from the classic model of Cycladic architecture, respecting the individual elements that it consists of. More specifically, the classic white coating, with a characteristic finish on the parapets, is combined with stone elements – a direct reference to the island’s ‘xerolithia’ (stone fencing). Wooden pergolas nearly around the perimeter of the main buildings create the necessary areas of shade and relaxation.

The wet element is placed parallel to the horizon line, bringing the open sea into the property.

For the planting of the surrounding area, resistant plants are chosen, characteristic of the Mediterranean landscape, in harmony with the aesthetics of the ensemble.
